Yup, more OUT than IN gives the illusion of downsizing. We had guests over at xmas the wife was showing them around the house. I overheard her in the music room saying "this isn't so bad, you should have seen how many he USED to have."

Man, if she only knew ...

BINGO! The only additional feature is tortoise binding with herringbone trim.....very classy, very cool.

Sorry I haven't posted the pics. Hard to hold a camera when you are playing nonstop!

This one was the missing piece to the nirvana puzzle.

Kotodawg, she is currently recovering from nerve surgery which is one reason I have been able to play much more on the weekend than usual.

Results won't fully be known for 2-3 months and if there are still problems it is 18 months (summer 2010) before they can try again. Pretty serious stuff but we praying for the best.

Not if you consolidate.....1 great guitar instead of 2-3 very good ones. Quality over quantity and all that other BS that we spout to help out with our justifications.

Thanks....the flash from the camera made the center a tab more yellow looking than it actually is. In person it looks to be a bit more of a tobacco burst.

It sounds MUCH better than it looks! :D :D :D

The Professor has the money....."Baby You're a Rich Man"...and he has sometimes (but sometimes not) shown remarkable restraint after visiting!

TJ, this isn't the one I special ordered and waited a year for.....that's the OM. This one I happened to stumble upon when I dropped in on a shop that surprisingly carried Collings. They had about 6 of them there (which is a pretty large amount for most dealers) and this one just blew me away with how it played and sounded. I had planned on ordering one very similar to this one except with a "varnish" finish but decided that there was no way it could sound $2000 (the varnish upcharge) better than this one, so I gritted my teeth, thought about it for about 15 minutes (while guarding it so no one else could touch it) and then pulled the trigger.

Now I gotta figure out how to pay for it!

This one is still being broken in and has maybe 15 hours on it. The OM has about 75-80 and it plays and feels so wonderful that at this point it is my go to guitar and the one I would keep if I had to sell all the others. Hopefully in about 3-4 months the CJ will be right there with it.

Looks sweet. How do you like that size guitar?

I find Dreadnoughts to be a bit big to handle. This one looks smaller, maybe i should check out a guitar this size.

CJ is a little bigger in the ass than a dread. That's where it gets the sound. If size is a concern (isn't it always) you may want to look at an SJ. Guarenteed not to slip off your knee.

GH1, I find dreads a bit big and somewhat uncomfortable but you gotta have the trade off for the huge beautiful sound they put out. That's why I only have a couple. For comfort, I much prefer the OM size or the Collings C10 size.

If the majority of my time playing was spent standing it probably would not be nearly the issue that it is sitting.

Tortoise shell binding. It's just a light spot, there's some on both pictures where it shows the top at an angle.

I stated early on that it had tortoise binding and herringbone trim.
