A friend of mine is recruiting volunteers for some non-profit work and needs a background tune for the slide show. He's used "Beautiful Day", "These Are The Days" and "HELP!" in previous year's shows. Any, uh, "HELP!" from you members would be great if you have any ideas.

"Time" Pink Floyd. ;)

~Time
David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine
Staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long
And there is time to kill today
And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun

And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter
Never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught
Or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone
The song is over
Thought I'd something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells

May I ask what type of 'work'? It might really make a difference in our suggestions.

No idea but I gave him "You've Got A Friend" (JT and CK, preferably CK) and "You've Got A Friend In Me" (Randy Newman/Lyle Lovett) and they were pretty well received. Tritt's "Here's A Quarter" didn't do so well...

Thanks, folks. The entry time has expired. I'll let you know what gets chosen and what the winner receives. Ah, what the difference, I can tell you that now - you get a heartful thanks from me! Good luck and don't push in line, k?

"Paranoid" - good one; Right Here, Right Now - Cannot Buh-LIEVE I didn't come up with that one! Great suggestion. And Mike, you're right - Toby's Linus & Ukey is a very cool arrangement. As mucha s I hate to admit it, it's turned into a Christmas standard around the Weas household. Thanks, everybody - great stuff.
