| I recently got a cc24 and so far it has gone through 3 high Es, all broke right at the 'eye' as soon as I attempted any bending. Anyone had this problem? I just broke one now and I could literally feel the wind crumble against my hand as ball popped off, cant be the strings fault at this point.. string sleeves? |

| I use the D'addario EJ16s and I tune it to what the onboard tuner tells me is an E. I also have a Yamaha FG700s and I bend the crap outta that thing and never broke a string, I never used EJ16s on it either though. |

(...or you're an octave too high) |

If the strings were snapping at the saddle, nut or tuner I'd suspect the instrument.
But consistently breaking at the ball wind sounds like a string issue. |

| interesting. its almost like the hole in the bridge has an angle that pushing against the part of the string that's in between the ball and the wrap (which is where it breaks). There is no metal within the bridge to reinforce it right? |

Might want to ease the edges of the entry hole with something like a miniature rat tail file. Mini file sets can be found in hoby and craft departments and are really handy to have around, btw. |

But if the strings are unraveling from the ball, you got crappy strings.
Even if you were tuning an octave too high, the ball-end shouldn't unravel/unwrap/fall-apart...
I would think that it would just break, cuz I have broken one-or-two high E's before.
[and my share of 'G' octaves! ] |

Location: PDX | I had a bad batch of strings too. I thought it was the guitar as well. But once i changed to a new batch all was well. I went through 3 or four sets if i remember correctly.
