Location: big island | Aloha Jerome, Hi, Ciao, Salut, Hello, Howdy, Konnichi wa, Bonjour!
You are reading it here first, our good friend.
The worldwide membership of the Ovation Fan Club, in great appreciation of your devotion and tireless efforts on behalf of Ovation and Adamas guitars, hereby announces our desire and contributions to help make one of your dreams come true.
We have it from reliable sources, and in your own words from an email you sent to one of our distinguished members, that on the top of your wishlist is a plan to have your Adamas Prototype #11 sent to the mothership for a miracle makeover.
Jerome, the total funds necessary to achieve this dream have been or are being collected and deposited into an account earmarked for this project.
Mike (Crimsonlake) will be in Paris on the 22nd of this month to rendezvous with you and to receive the guitar, which he will bring back with him, and then see that it gets to the factory. Mike will work out those details with you privately.
Upon completion of the makeover, there will be enough contributions to ship the guitar back to you.
Please contact Mr. Budny at your earliest convenience to consider your specifications.
Thank you, Jerome. We all wish you the Happiest of New Years. |

My wife will glady take it back to France when it's done, but I decided that shipping would be much cheaper for just the guitar. |

I'm not sure to deserves such an "award" but I'm so grateful for that gesture and for your kindness!!!
Thank you so much for the fantastic gift you make me!!!
I'll be very happy to meet Mike in Paris and to give him the Adamas proto #11.
That piece of Ovation history deserves to be repaired and I'll discuss with John Budny to know what the Factory could do.
You're right Randy, they can do miracles in New Hartford and I'm sure that the final result will be great.
I don't know what else to say than MERCI mes amis.
I'm very very happy and touched by so many attentions.
J :)

(hope that translates properly) Since then you have created a wonderful resource, brought the Ovation FanClub and Ovation information to a whole new audience, constantly contribute to our dysfunctional little community, and a few years ago I had the pleasure of meeting you in person.
All of this just re-enforced my initial impression that you are a "class act."
Thank you for your enthusiasm, thank you for being you. |

Today was a very special day because I'm arrived with a big smile on the face at my office.
It's not the same every day and you can trust in me...
How could I explain to all the people who are working just beside me why I was so happy??
Of course, they all knows that I'm an Ovation fan because I talking about Ovation every day (they endure my Ovation discussions since years...), my desk if full of Ovation pictures from the last Factory Tour but it's not so easy to share a so big emotion.
I didn't have been very productive during all the day because I had so much stuffs in mind like to find the right words to tell you how I'm touched by your kindness and so your kind comments.
Sorry I can't because of too much emotion.
You probably could not imagine what you've done for me with that gift.
More than to bring the proto #11 to life, your friendship is the greatest gift that you make me for the new year.
I have been accepted 4 years ago in your family even with my poor English and since that date, I'm living a fantastic adventure that I'll never forget!!
The "rebirth" of the proto #11 was one of my greatest dream and I'll do my best with John's advices and the guys at the factory to respect that great guitar.
I've got nice ideas in mind and I wish that it will be possible to realize them... ;)
Thanks again to all of you!!!
I'm proud to be your friend.
Jérôme :)
PS: a picture of my desk at my office... :D

My wife mentioned last week that she'd like to visit Paris. I will agree to go only if I can spend some time visiting with you (after you have #11 back, of course). |

What you said!
I'd post a picture of my desk but I'd be fired and they'd have to shoot you all.
Just imagine Jerome's work station with last year's Hamer Calendar, this year's OFC Calendar (#1) and a whole lot of redundant Government forms scattered everywhere!
Congrats my Friend and this is just the beginning!

Did anybody mention that the #11 proto will have to take a worldwide tour once it's refurbished, starting in California? It'll probably come back in worse shape then when it left..... |

I can not imagine not to accompany the proto during all his trip around the world.
Of course, I will be happy to make a stop in London to show it to Schroeder too. ;)

According to Wiki "They called this "La rivière boisée", which means "the wooded river." [3]"
But its biggest claim to fame is that it's on the way to Portland. |

I know it's not as nice as say, New Jersey, but a couple hundred thousand people, mostly from California, think it's a good place to live. Maybe if we advertised it as "Only 432 miles across the desert from Portland" more of them would stay in California. |

I remember a very nice french guy here, but his name was different. "Paulmac" or something like that... I wonder what happened to him? Did he cross the 5000 line?
He really started a good website back then... Cost me a lot of money... Cos' it led me to this site...
Best regards, my friend(s), from munich,

Location: Paris/France | Hi,
The Adamas proto #11 is now in other good hands at the Factory!!!
I'll soon discuss with John for the specifications.
I know that they won't be able to realize all my wishes with that guitar but I've got some good ideas and I'll listen to all advice that they could give me.
One of my greatest wish is to respect the original spirit of that proto.
I don't want to bore the guys in New Hartford but I'll ask them if it's possible to take some photos during the rebuilt process for sharing with you all.
It could be funny and interesting to see this guitar to come back to life step by step...
A very big THANK YOU to Mike who took care of it from Paris to the Factory and to you all for making that dream possible.
J :) |
