I've got AJ's VXT on loan but don't know what strings to put on it.

Electric or phosphor bronze or something else? And what gauge? I normally use 11's on my acoustics but I don't usually play electrics - and this is a hybrid so I don't have a clue.

I use D'Addario XLs, 10-46. I think of the VXT as an electric guitar first, with a piezo under the bridge, rather that a true hybrid like, say, the EA68 Viper, on which I use 12-53 EJ16s or Adamas 1818s.

Try a set of Thomastik-Infeld GB112 (Nickel Flat Wound Jazz Guitar Strings 12-53). I have them on a Parker and on an EA68. They have a great feel and you might like the sound.

The factory puts D'Addario EXL (10-46) on them (as I got mine there was a tag on it). I've tried also EHR (halfrounds) which I was really happy with.
Now I have Elixir Nanoweb 12052 also 10-46 on it, a good choice, too.
