Hi All,

I just managed to get my very first Ovation guitar!!! :-) It is unbelievable, more than i expected and very thrilled to finally own such a beautiful guitar.

Managed to get it online (its a 2078AX RTD) for under a 1k, and delivered to my door in 7 days!

The only problems i found were:

1. 8cm crack in the case - not too worried, but will let the seller know
2. A very small dent in the top, looks to be only the lacquer not the wood affected. Noticeable but small and near the bottom...disappointed but i have way more marks on my other guitars!

The main thing i need help with is:

3. The back cap was not on and i have no idea how to attach it. i can see how the X clamp keeps it on, but not sure how to do this...do you somehow unscrew and then put on the guitar the tighten? Too scared to turn with screwdriver in case i break something.

I'm sure you guys know so thought i would drop a post!

Thanks.

Well done Aussie. I just took delivery of my latest Ovation today (see the "Kitchen bench" thread). It's awesome!

On a Contour Bowl, that lid isn't quite perfectly round.

On my 2078T and on my Sweet T (also a 2078T) I marked a spot to line-up when I put them back together.

Just a thought...
