I took the new Elite T out for the first time this morning; played a few songs for a biker club meeting with my friend Wes.  Acoustically, this guitar is sooooooooo much different than my LX, but it's different in a nice way.  Much less volume, projection, and a less booming voice, but plenty loud for the back half of a busy restaurant.  Got plenty of comments, and then this lady came up after and asked, "What kind of guitar was that you were playing?" and when I told her she turned and punched her old man and said, "I told you so!" and he proceeded to say, yeah back in the day Glenn Campell had one of those but it looked different so I wasn't sure... and I had a chance to pass on a little Ovation lore, sharing how close Glenn and Charlie were and how much of a role Glenn had in the early development of the brand.  Anyway, bravo to the T!  It suits me well!

Good report Jon. I had a guy at my house yesterday buying a vintage Rickenbacker amp I was selling for a friend. He gave me his business card. He is the Vintage Guitar Coordinator for Heritage online auctions (ha.com). I told him I had just recently registered there and signed up to be notified if a 1537, any Elite, or old Balladeer became available. He said he was the one who would be notifying me. I gave him one of my cards and he said because of the great deal I gave him on the amp he would personally notify me a week before anyone else if a 1537 showed up. He told me a story about a 1984 Collectors they recently had. Someone posted pics of theirs in here recently and that Charlie Kaman said it was the best they had ever built. He said he recognized its value immediately and tried to talk the woman who brought it in into letting them sell it on consignment instead of in an auction starting at a dollar with no reserve. He said the guitar was in like new condition. She was in a hurry and said no. He told me someone got it for $404.00! I'm hoping he tracks me down a 1537. Heritage auctions is in several large cities so I'm not limited to what shows up in Dallas only. I feel I made a great contact. If anyone is looking for a certain model I don't mind passing on the info to him. We had a great visit that carried on out onto my porch as he was leaving and he said "I enjoyed meeting you". While he was here trying out the amp with a 50's era Strat, I got treated to some note for note SRV pickin at concert volume. It was incredible. I definitely intend to stay in touch with him.
