This is my personal guitar 1617-ALE that was produced in 2011 in a limited run of 50 guitars. This one is number 42. These stunning guitars were built during the time of the factory conversion to Guild and I almost got the impression that this model was a "here ... take that" kind of parting shot. Truly one of the really remarkable models they built during the swan song and will stand head to toe with the best in Ovation's history.
At the heart of the 1617-ALE is a hand selected Adirondack Spruce top finished on wonderful sunburst and trimmed in tortoise binding. Scalloped X bracing and a beautiful inlaid rosette of abalone infinity pattern. The solid maple neck is also bound in tortoise and carries a premium grade ebony fretboard with abalone infinity inlays. Gold Schaller tuners. The BOWL is of course DEEP. No fooling around here - DEEP original lyrachord for that classic Ovation sound. Low profile pick and OP-PRO pre-amp round out the deal.
These sell new for $2800 on up. Mine can be yours for $1550. w/ FREE FedEx shipping in the 48 US states.

CONDITION: This guitar could pass for BRAND NEW. Not a mark on it. No visible wear. Perect in every way. CASE: OK, here's the catch and the reason I'm selling so cheap. I lost the case. But I have plenty of others, just not brand new. The case it is in is an original Ovation deep case but it has some scuffs, stickler glue marks, and a few areas where the plastic has deformed a bit. But inside it is 100% perfect. The outside just looks used, that's all. All latches and hardware work perfectly and there is nothing wrong with it. It just seems out of synch with the beautiful new guitar. Oh well.

Sooo ... there you have it. $1550. and it's yours. Email or PM if you have questions. THANKS § 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 - = Backspace Tab q w e r t y u i o p [ ] capslock a s d f g h j k l ; ' \ shift ` z x c v b n m , . / shift alt alt |

Location: NH | This is absolutely spectacular. I'm not sure if I've seen an O'burst like this before. Do they have a name for it, like Autumn Burst or NEB? "Wonderful sunburst" works just fine. And manufactured in 2011 and no contour bowl?
I'm still in denial for not pulling the trigger on Woody's 2007 BCS last fall. I need to purge that feeling to make room for letting this one go. Very nice Dave. Good luck with the sale! |
