I have had this OFC II production number #1 of 8 for a few years. This is the one that was built originally for Alpep, so it's really more than just #1 of 8, it's a piece of history for both the Ovation Fanclub and Ovation.

The guitar is mint, and I don't use that term lightly.

What can I say... I'm lusting after the new Adamas 2080 made for the anniversary and I don't need two.

This is a once in a lifetime chance to own this Guitar.

Specificaitons:

  • Adamas 2080
  • Hand Laid Fiberglass Contour Bowl
  • OP-PRO preamp w/ db boost button (henceforth known as the alpep boost) this has never been done in any other guitar than the Al D model
  • Additional iDea Pre-Amp INCLUDED !!!!
  • Black binding
  • Black textured bowl
  • Blackburst finish
  • Black gloss maple neck
  • 1 11/16"
  • Set neck similar to 08 collector's
  • Ebony fingerboard
  • xlr and 1/4" outputs
  • Open back Sperzel tuners brushed nickel
  • black nut
  • black saddle
  • Numbered 1/8
  • Custom Order Certificate
  • Special label signed by CWKII and Alpep
  • OFC II Certificate signed by CWKII and Alpep

These were limited to 8 guitars.

I see this guitar as a modern version of the Adamas for those that are into the look and who like the option of the db switch for lead playing.

$5195.00 gets it shipped to your doorstep.

Miles, sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope things turn around for you soon.

And as Miles said, if you're reading this, you know just how special this guitar and case combo is.

And yes, this is the one that was built originally for Al and the rest were modeled after it. So I guess it's not only #1 of 8, it's also the prototype.

It went from Al to one other person who I traded with because I had #2 of the OFC I guitar and that was more their style and this more my style and I really wanted #1. I don't think AL or the other person put more than a few hours on it if that combined, and I have maybe put a couple hours on it as well.

Unemployment really sucks! Like Bernie, this is out of my league at this time, but good luck with the sale.

I updated the original post with some pictures and the specifications... I think I'm gonna cry when this one goes. I haven't even told Lisa that I'm selling it yet.

I'm also throwing in the iDea PreAmp that I got for it in addition to the original. It works great and has only been used to test to see that it works.

I'll also throw some additional SWAG in the box just because whomever gets this guitar deserves it.

Actually I would consider it depending on model and condition as that would get me out of my car payment for the car I bought (that I don't really like) a month before I got layed off.

That's the only one with the swoosh. All the others have a bare fretboard. These are the ats cass for playing out.

A quick sea story about the swoosh.. When I first saw the 2080, I knew it was the guitar for me. It was at the factory and as I was meeting Darren who as I understand had a big part in the design. The first thing I mentioned to him was that I loved the subtle detail of the "swoosh" matching the countour bowl and the sound hole and such and somewhat bringing it all together. I think he was surprised that I "got it" as most people see it and think Nike... Not me... The first time I heard the Nike reference I had to go look up to see what their logo is.. To me, it does and always will represent what I believe is one of the best design changes to the Adamas since its inception.

Damn Miles, sorry to hear that you have to sell such a unique and wonderful guitar. I wish I had the cash for this one! Whoever buys this is going to be a very happy camper! I have wanted one of these since Al announced them originally, but the timing and finances have never been right for me. I almost sold my 47RI to pay for one, but I just couldn't do it.

Best of luck with the sale and with everything else as well. Somebody buy this!

Sorry, my car isn't even worth that much, & I'm not parting with internal, or suspended, organs, at this juncture.

Best wishes for the sale Miles...I know how you feel as I faced a similar situation in selling #4 to DVD...absolutely the best gigging New Hartford A/E I ever owned...and I miss it still today...but, there comes a time when ya gotta do what ya gotta do...someone will get the guitar of a lifetime and you will get what you need to get done...it works out in the end...

I sold mine quite some time ago so I don't remember ... is the case actually carbon fiber? As I recall it was more like carbon fiber "look" skin that was molded on the case. Is that right?

I just looked at it and it's kinda hard to tell because there is decent coating over whatever it is. I was under the impression that it was actual Carbon Fiber, probably over a regular case with a protective coating. Regardless it makes an already pretty durable case near bulletproof. Maybe Alpep can chime in as I remember he had the custom made.

I haven't had a chance to list this on eBay yet, so I still have it. I don't want to hear any whining from ANYONE when I list it on eBay and end up shipping it off to Japan.

Just do what you gotta do Miles.

Folks in Asia still LOVE Ovations.

I think the only whining you're going to hear from me is due to the fact that I don't have the cash for this incredible guitar! I have often regretted not jumping on one when Al offered them originally. I even considered selling 4 guitars to finance yours.

Best of luck with the sale.

Miles, I know how you feel and yes, you will miss it when it's gone...I miss #4 much more than I thought I would...but knowing it has a great home with another OFC member makes it OK...fortunately I have other great guitars to help fill the void...sometimes, you just have to do what you have to do...in the end, we're just caretakers and then we pass them along...and be glad we had the chance to own them for a while...someone is going to have that chance here with #1...
