Thunderhead is one of my all time favorites and I've probably owned 10 or more of them over the years. I still have multiples and need to clear some room so I am offering s/n B-410 for sale.

* Thunderhead Deluxe Vibrato * Deep Wine Red * Semi hollowbody electric, Spruce top, Maple back and sides * Maple neck, bound with side dots * Adjustable neck mounting * Multi ply body binding and bound F-holes * Ebony fretboard with diamond shape MOP inlays * 5 ply pickguard with engraved Ovation logo * Gold Ovation logo tuners * Adjust-o-matic bridge * Gold vibrato tail-piece * Gold plated d'armond pickups with adjustable pole pieces * Master volume and twin tone controls, plus pickup blend control * 3-way toggle with out of phase setting
Condition: Everything on this guitar is original and has been treating with loving care. There are a couple pin point sized marks on the front that would not even photograph and a few finish checking lines on the front but you can not really see any of this from 3 feet away. The back is absolutely pristine, as is the neck. Just perfect. One tiny white mark on the tip of the lip would probably wipe off. I took it off for the photos but I even have the gold cover for the bridge. Some gold finish is wearing off the pickups, but that's about the only hint that this guitar is 45 YEARS OLD !!!
Electronics: Everything works as it should. Just played it this morning and no issues at all.
Case: The original case was not provided when I bought this guitar so I went out and got a brand new very high quality Oscar Schmidt deluxe gig bag. It will provide excellent protection and you will not be disappointed in it at all.
The guitar is an absolute GEM of Ovation history and I would NOT be selling if I didn't have duplicates. These come up every so often on eBay but most are trashed. You KNOW what you're getting if you buy it from me.
$595. including FedEx shipping and full insurance in the 48 US States. PM me if you have questions.

Location: SoCal | Is this the one that was sold a long time ago and came back? The prodigal guitar?
I sold mine and got it back last year. It's never going anywhere. There are better guitars out there but these are special in a way that I can't define. They just are.
You are selling it well below where I believe the market is. Somebody is going to snap this up fast..... |

By the way (I'm ready to show my ignorance here), what's the difference between the Thunderhead and the Tornado models? |

For us in the U.K. and 'Down Under' by the time shipping and import duty has been added we end up paying twice as much as you!
Still, our misfortune is your gain....... Good luck to you. Just keep the Ovation name going. |

- neck binding
- fretboard

Location: Phoenix AZ | Thunderhead is just another name for a cumulonimbus cloud.
Tornado is a high speed rotating column of air simultaneously contacting the cumulonimbus cloud and the earth.
So technically you can not have a Tornado without having a Thunderhead ... as any Ovation collector would know. |
