| Hi there. My name is Larry and I'm a shiny new member of your community. A little about me and why I'm here:
53 year old male, married, two adult children and an adolescent dog. Longtime guitar enthusiast and owner of 10 guitars at present of which two are Ovations, one being new. My first decent guitar was purchased around 1977 - an Ovation Preacher solidbody electric. Had it for decades and sold it around two years ago. It found a good home - actually went to an ebayer who grew up across the river from the ovation factory. I bought a Celebrity Deluxe CS257 around 10 years ago - very nice guitar for it's price point and just a few weeks ago acquired a used C779LX Legend in pristine condition. My CS257 will go to my son as he loves playing it anyway. I am not a professional musician or even a semi-professional, just love to play and to learn about music. On the eternal quest to be able to play what I hear in my head and to have what I hear in my head be unique, creative and compelling. (Not sure which is the greater challenge but they're both a bear.) Stumbled across your forum this week and in poking around came across a very interesting thread on how one goes about playing lead guitar. Was impressed by some of the folks engaged in the dialogue and when I saw the references to jazz-rock monsters such as JL Ponty and Jerry Goodman, I thought I might enjoy communing with fellow like-minded lovers of guitar, music and Ovation. Anyway that's me. Hope to meet some good folks on the forum. | |
