Jim Hall died today (12/10). He was known for being zen, subtle and the epitome of taste. Never overplayed despite fantastic technique and deep harmonic sense. Keith Jarrett once said he never knew anybody who could come up with as many different chords and voicings on the spot as Hall.

Beanie Kaman is doing a tribute to him right now on her jazz show "Something Cool" on KSFR (Sante Fe, NM) radio. There's a live stream on www.ksfr.org if you want to catch it.
