Serial Number Identification

Roundback Posted 2008-01-19 3:49 PM (#59809) Subject: Serial Number Identification Joined: November 2003 Posts: 231 I'm curious as to why the S.N. on my 1981 Legend just states Moddel 1117, and is not followed by a dash and number. It is a sunburst, so I would think that it would be a 1117-1. Is this just a reference guide, and if so, why does my 1978 Anniversary have a model number stating the finish color? It has a model number inside of 1157-7. I've seen a lot of labels that only had the model#.
