You dog !!! I knew you'd do it. Nice going. That's one cool instrument and I KNOW you'll be bringing it to Fla for me to drool over in person, right?

Congratulations.

Well, this one did come with a burgundy granite Carlton case so at least I know it would be well protected!

The all mahogany body and top has a kinda unique sound like no other guitar in the stable.

Christmas fund....now I gotta decide which one to ship out to help pay for it.

and uh ohhh.....wait till momma sees what I special ordered. At least I will have 6-9 months to raise the funds and break the news!

which gives me time to grab the Tak 45th and the Collectors '08....then I am finished....I swear!

Oh yeah -- stunned by your new guitar i forgot to say; The first thought i had, by the title of the thread, was that we were going to get some pictures of the new addition to the family.

So, where are those? Or did i miss them?

Wow. I love that size. These Colorado boys are all nuts. Every last one of them. Many of us would be satisfied just to camp out underneath Stephen's table and collect the crumbs that eventually make their way to the floor. Very well done, Stephen.

Well, the smartass answer would be a "guitar" :p

but the answer I think you are looking for would be a Collings C-10 Deluxe all mahogany body and top.

What's the Willie Nelson joke? Is he known for something other than his raspy voice?

BTW, did not get the joke on the picture of the girl who looked intoxicated? Who's she? I think the post title was 'Free'. Been away from the U.S. too long, I suppose.

S28, if you find the need for a pickguard I'd suggest a clear one from StooMak. Would protect against the Willie hole and not be obvious.

Can't find a pic right now, STK, but Willie puts a REAL hurtin' on a guitar. And Willie's not only a singer and player but, IMHO, his true value was (is?) as a songwriter. WAY ahead of his time.

About 10 years ago Martin announced they were gonna reissue Willie's guitar in limited quantities.

Interesting that you mentioned that. I was seriously thinking of putting a clear one on it to protect it a bit without distracting from the looks.

I was also curious how a typical Collings pickguard would look against the mahogany.

Ooo, could be a fatal flaw, Paul. Don't TELL them anything about bras - they just might assume you wear them. ASK them about bras and they'll talk all day.

Really - I've pretty much made a living out of playing stupid. Ask anyone.

A regular p/g would look OK because the tortis will blend but clear is the way to go. Or leave it off till you need it. Or bring it to Florida and we'll put it on then.

Bra Clear Pick Guard - Don\'t be fooled by Imitations!

Yeah, they are ten bucks, but you get two and they are removable/reusable.
And you can see through them, and you can take them off. And maybe they will give me a free one for the plug :D
