Joined: August 2002 Location: Everett, Wa | Happened across this video and couldn't believe the guitar Jerry was playing. At first I thought it was because the treble bout was in shadow or I didn't have a good viewing angle. But eventually I saw that there was no treble bout. It was cut off at 90 degrees to the neck to allow access to upper frets. One of the backup players was on an Ovation so there was at least one "regular" guitar being played. Location: Texas | It is a "chopped" Baldwin801CP. Phil Hunt plays it on this clip That is Paul Yandell sitting in the background, who played as Jerry's sideman before moving on to Chet. Jerry wanted to modify his baldwin to be a cutaway, so that he could have easier acess to upper neck. He admits that the end result is not what he had in mind, in terms of asthetics, but it worked. Here is a picture of it...(looks like the Prismatone may have been removed, or maybe the flash is bouncing off of it)
