Does anyone know what bracing was used on a 1981 model 1627 Glen Cambell?

The Ovation website archive lists A bracing for an 1127, but lists VT-8 for an 1627...

I'm sure the bracing was the same on both models during that same year, but may changed from year to year.

For the first years, the 1627 had VT-8 bracing. In the very early 80's (or thereabouts), at the same time that it went from a truss rod to the Kbar, it also went to being A braced.....

Thanks Moody.
So, what year did it change to Kbar, would a 1981 model be a Kbar with A bracing? Anyone know?

Somewhere between 1980-1981. There was no hard line recorded.....

Take your chance to look inside the guitar with a mirror or just hand-inspect it.
It should not be difficult to recognize a VT from a A braced guitar....

Thanks. Yes, it should be easy to tell when I see it in person, I have only seen pictures from the ad so far.
It does have a truss rod cover, meaning it is pre-Kbar, so most likely it is VT-8 braced.
