| I'm looking for recommendations for classical strings. Searched the 2 online boys, and have it narrowed down to Hannabach, or T-I. I'd like a very traditional string. What are you classical players using? The local shop put EB on it, but I'm looking for a deeper/fuller sound.

Location: Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire | If an Ovation or Adamus, the manual in my Classical indicates Adamas or Omega High Tension strings. Are they still available? Don't know. However when I bought my guitar the prior owner used Savarez 520J, a French made high tension nylon strings, and so far I'm happy with them. I'm on my second set and you can find them on-line. |

| Thanks guys, I'll place an order, and give them a try. I know the Adamas steel strings are still available, but not certain on the nylon. |

Location: Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire | There was another brand of nylon strings (name escapes me?) that had a ball-end so you don't have to loop the strings on the bridge like conventional nylon strings BUT I had two of the strings pull the little knot thru the ball and not sure why? I won't use those again. FYI

Anyway, I tried some Martin Ball-end Nylon strings.
I didn't like 'em.
One string came undone at the ball end.
Another string broke near the ball end.
It isn't that hard to tie the strings.
(disclaimer: I do not currently own a nylon string guitar)

Not good and surprising since I bought them since I have used their steel acoustic strings for years with favorable results. However I recently went back to D'Addario steels on my Collectors shallow bowl and they sound great! Every once in a while I guess its good to try a different type of string. My ear changes from time to time and experimenting works! |

| I used Martin Marquis for almost 30 years on my Gibson. SJ Deluxe, but changed a few years ago to the T-I Plectrums. What a difference. Had to play at a wedding a couple if years ago, and needed fresh strings, so went with the Martins in a pinch. Never again. Since they've moved all string production to Mexico, I feel the quality just isn't the same. |
