Location: south east Michigan | All us old farts say.... go to the archives, go to the archives. Thing is, not every thread is a gem. But a good number of them are.... you just have to come across them. Here's one from 2002. Today it reads a little bittersweet and a little prophetic. I'm afraid you'll have to copy/paste the link. http://www.ovationfanclub.com/megabbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=16081&start=1&highlight=PLAYING+OVATION+GUITARS&highlightmode=1 Sidebar: Hey Miles ... is there anyway to re-activate this thread as a current post?

Location: Flahdaw | VERY interesting thread. The same old discussions and arguments. A lot of those guys disappeared. (I think it's funny how long winded Al's posts were back then. Today it's more like "F**k it, I'm sick of all this crap!!!" |

It also was in 2002. Thanks for posting. The thread possibly could be a sticky in the reference section. |

No wonder he disguised it as being from Lisa. |

It's really a trip back in time...and I have to admit, reading beal's posts...were such a foreshadow of what was to come. Some of that crew that wrecked the company. I can still see their faces when they handed me my hat. At that time I think these new people were looking to demonstrate colorful graphs and charts, return on investment initiatives, continuous improvement schemes, eliminating subcontractors...basically anything to justify their office, business casual suit and comfy chair. They really just cashed in on what had been built many years prior, drained the accounts, sold the company and shuttered Ovation USA. I saw it happen just like everybody else and it's not an unusual situation, in business. There are winners and there are losers, it goes without saying but I'll say it anyway.

And yet people still don't think I know what I'm talking about.

Hmm...Grampa always said it a little differently - "Even a blind squirrel finds his nuts once in a while."
But yours makes sense too, bobbo...

I know we had a thread for awhile about who had the record for being a "thread killer". I think I was in the running, not because I gave definitive answers, but probably because the reader was too bored to respond. |
