Hello all fellow Ovation fans. Glad to be amongst other cool guitar player/owners.
My guitar is a 2005 in excellent shape. Problem is the high e string sounds almost muted. I replaced the nut that had a very deep slot with a Tusq nut and I think it sounds the same. Now I'm thinking that it may be a groove carved in the saddle that's causing it. Assuming that I can't really replace the nut/pickup assembly I'm thinking of sanding the top edge of the saddle to remove the grooves and then place a shim underneath.
Any thoughts/comments?

I wouldn't suggest filing down the saddle. I'd just buy a new saddle/pu assembly. Get in touch with Ovation customer service and or Al at Lostartvintage.com

be sure you let them know you need a black one.
