I have a 68 Balladeer that needs a little TLC. Since the factory has closed are there any Ovation repair people still in business?

Have you contacted John Budny to see if they can handle the work?

I believe they're still doing repairs.

If you have contacted JB and they can't handle it, can you provide a few details about the work that needs to be done?

They're doing repairs with the same people in the same place. Contact John Budny at the email address above and you'll get the work done right.

Dropped JB a message. There is a crack on my soundhole and it's coming from under the fretboard extension. I can feel the crack on the underside of the top. The guitar is a 68 Balladeer and I've never noticed the crack before. The top has shifted a little along the crack and it follows the top grain. I suppose it needs to be reinforced. The top isn't caved in anywhere just has the crack.
I also wanted to lower the action but the bridge saddle is just about as low as it can go so maybe the neck could be reset? I am not sure the neck can be reset.

With an Ovation, it's not so much of a neck reset as it's a bowl bend. If Budny's people won't or can't do it, Dan Savage might be willing to take it on. He's done several so far, and done them well.
