Joined: October 2012 Posts: 1082 Location: Yokohama, Japan Over here in Japan, I've been typing "Ovation" into my web search engine for years with very little response from any Japanese web-sites. When I typed in "Ovation" today, the very first link was to Kanda Shokai's web-site. Kanda Shokai has long been Ovation's distributor here in Japan, and they've not exactly been enthusiastic about the brand lately, but I visited the web-site today and lo-and-behold the web-site looks brand-new. The Ovation page header reads... "The World's original acoustic-electric is still its best" All the guitars on display are Celebrity models and the prices are still too high, but the re-vamped web-site implies something new is coming down the pike soon! Marketing Geniuses figured that if the put a fret-board extension on a Celebrity that looks like a USA-made Ovation they could double the price. And the same geniuses assume that the buying public is stupid (and they are) and won't know the difference.
