| What's the absolute BEST Ovation for -$600? I want something unique and different from most in that price range. I could look through every Ovation in the price range and guess, but I know there are a lot of smart cookies here who've been playing Ovations for a long time. So what do you long-timers suggest for this price range? Thanks! |

Now THAT is a good question. We can only assume you mean new as the used market is really all over the map. As of right this moment there are no Made In USA models in that price range new as there is just leftover stock from when the previous owners shut down the factory and new production hasn't quite started yet. So you are looking at the Celebrity line of which there are many nice guitars. If you are looking to play mostly acoustically (as in not plugged in) then I think the Elite TX is a nice guitar. It has a mid-depth bowl, and is a generally well constructed, good feeling and good sounding guitar in that price range. |

Say I want to really save up some dough and bump it up to $1,000. What then? Because I've had a good hard look at the Celebrity line, and nothing there tickles my fancy. Elites I could possibly get behind. In fact, a year or so back, I ALMOST bought an Elite TX, but was instead won over by a Seagull Excursion. What I ultimately didn't like about the TX was they're Korean, like the majority of the -$600, and I want something 'MURICAN. |
