| Hi gang, brand new here.
I have an old Celebrity DLX cc257 that I played so much I wore it out twice. It's not worth overhauling again so now I want to replace it. I played a look-a-like about 10 years ago and it didn't even come close to the feel and play-ability of my old Celebrity. Now when I go shopping online for a used replace I get overwhelmed by all the model numbers. (What's that about -- is there some naming convention that I'm missing?)
What I need is a short list of Ovation Celebrity super shallows that are the best of their era (not Adamas) so that I can go shopping for a used replacement.
Can anyone here help me with that?
Thanks

An 1868 would be a USA Ovation shallow bowl Elite. I have one in white:
And her cuz the 1858 too (12 string)
FYI, an Adamas is a composite top guitar. A different animal. |

| Hey thanks for a quick reply!
Your 1868 is beautiful all right. That might be what I end up with but I see its selling used for around $5oo. I'm going to try to spend less than that, but I'll have to see if I can get my hands on one to play it and decide then.
"an Adamas is a composite top guitar". Thanks for that too. It's obvious I don't know much about the Ovation model lineup -- I didn't even know they made a Celebrity-type model in the USA. But I will check it out. |

| An Elite TX was recommended in another post here so I went searching and immediately found an Elite TX 2078TX-5 and also an Ovation Elite Model 1778 TX-5GSM (there might be more Elite TX models?)
Is there a system to the model labeling so that I can guess what 'Elite' might mean on any model I run across?
What do 'Celebrity' guitars have in common?
What does 'TX' mean when appended to a model number?
I realize I'm asking a lot of questions so maybe someone could point me to a page that explains some of this?
(I have spent time searching for a page like that but couldn't find.)
You guys are experts but the huge lineup of model numbers are making it difficult for a nube like me to find what I want.
Thanks again |

Location: Jet City | Joe, I know where one of these S868-4GC Elites is for $350. Let me know and I'll PM you the details.
It's a USA model. I used to have one, it was a stellar shallow bowl.

| Thanks Damon That looks like my old one. Except (from what I understand) might be a step up in quality.
I will PM you right now |
