Location: Katmandu | It seems the entire Adamas string series is being reissued with new packaging but to its original specifications. Those strings haven't been available for quite some time at least in my region.
The fifth (A5) and sixth (E6) string still utilize the core and wrap wire of identical size.

Location: Frozen Tundra of Minnesota | I only heard when I tried to order some old stock from Sam Ash, and accidently hit that "Talk to a real person" button. The nice young man who came on told me that they were going to be making them again, but were waiting to find out who the distributor was going to be... He said that I could go ahead and put my order in now, so I am assuming that Sam Ash will be selling them. |

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA | Hi, Everyone,
When we were selling the former version of Adamas Strings in the red packaging, at the music store I worked in, way back some 30 years ago, the Ovation rep for Eastern Canada told us the, 'E' , simply stood for "Enviromental", because a new type of "anti-corrosive", and "earth-friendly" material was used to package the strings. It was just for North America. The more things change, the more they stay the same. The new Adamas Strings may be carried by Long and McQuade in Canada, in about 3-4 months, again, maybe? I got a " No Comment" type e-mail from D'Addario Canada, when I asked them about the new Adamas Strings. Go figure?

Quite a lot of the old, red labeled version still available at Thomann music store in Germany, probably the biggest distributor in Europe... so at least for O-Players in Germany, France, Italy pp. looking for those strings.... you may get them there. 8 bucks. |

I GOT A CALL JUST THIS MORNING FROM STRINGS AND BEYOND. THEY WILL NOT BE CARRYING THE NEW 2016 RE-ISSUE ADAMAS STRINGS AT ANY POINT. "WE ARE UNABLE TO GET THIS BRAND IN STOCK. WE RECOMMEND USING EITHER THE NEW D-R VERITAS STRINGS, OR THE NEW D'ADDARIO NICKEL/ BRONZE STRINGS AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THIS BRAND." Did I miss something here? I did not see this coming!

I may just buy them at my luthier, he's hosting a lot of fun events so want to give him some business too. Actually he just has my 12 string Legend in for a setup and he thinks the (LX) neck needs tightening. Will see at tomorrow's jam if he got it fixed ... |

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA | Hi, Beal,
I posted a reply earlier to Leonard McCoy on page 1 of this thread, and I said I contacted D'Addario CANADA about the new Adamas strings. My bad. I actually contacted the US headquarters site in Farmingdale, NJ. They replied some 3 days later, and sent me an ominous sounding e-mail, which in effect said that we cannot and/or won't tell you exactly which companies we do, or do not make our strings for at any time. They told me to check with my local music store, so now I definitely know Steve's Music will NOT be carrying the new Adamas Strings. I'm still waiting for an answer from both Long and McQuade, and D'Addario CANADA, about these new Adamas strings, but I'm not holding my breath. There is an old saying about the word "ASSUME," which I think you know, and I can't post it here, so all of this mystery/intrigue about set of guitar strings is a bit of a head scratcher for me. I asked a simple question, and got nowhere fast.

Somebody might need to call and ask.
I had the PermanentModels (when they MADE them) installed on all MyGuitars years ago, so I don't t'buy 'em

You pushed me at the time to get permanent strings tubes and I didn't. Regretted it ever since....... |
