Location: When?? | Hello all, and thank you for allowing me to enter into your online realm. My name is Alan and I live in Fresno, California. My one and only guitar is an Ovation Custom Balladeer, model 1112 (sunburst), which I bought new in 1981 and have protected in as perfect of condition as possible. There was no way I would have ever left that music store with any other make of guitar since it was an intentional purchase by virtue of so many greats in the music industry who had sounded so good with them. Of course, Glen Campbell and Nancy Wilson topped my list in those days.
I have a call in with Guinness to find out if I am, in fact, the world’s worst guitar player. Since I haven’t heard back from them I will just go ahead and assume that I, along with the maybe dozen chords I know in the first three frets, probably hold the record.. though the love and admiration I have felt over all these years for this instrument is paramount. It has been my thumb-suck through all times good and bad.. and 95% of what has ever sounded out of it has been of my own mind’s creation. If the house catches fire it will be the first thing I go for.. and hopefully my wife will survive inside long enough for me to get her out, too, since she probably wouldn't want to live with me in its absence anyway.
I have very much enjoyed the countless posts and photos I’ve read and viewed on the OFC forum boards along with the plethora of information I have learned from them. I hope to join into the mix with my own questions and comments as well. Again.. thank you for accepting me into the membership of your club.

I haven't been down to 55 for some time, but you're right, they do book some good performers in there. The city recently approved paving the Fulton pedestrian mall back to an open street again, and with it came $380 million in private investor funds to open shops and clubs. Our baseball team also packs the stadium (recently won the AAA World Series) which draws a lot of fans just a block away who are amped and thirsty after games, so I would suspect a few new performing venues to open soon to suit that agenda as well.
