It's going to be tailored (excuse the pun) to Ovation guitars and the advertising is focused to the Ovation FanClub as we are helping to promote the event. But if you are asking if you can bring a non-member, as long as their spot is paid for, I don't see an issue.

That is true. This is something aimed at the OFC members. If one of them want to borrow a guitar when here just let us know, there are a few hanging around. Beats flying with one. And it is "The Secret Of Everything" Anyone coming that has the chopshop book, bring it.

And it is "The Secret Of Everything"
Thanks for that clarification, Beal. The "Scent of Everything" was a little unnerving (especially if you spent any time at all around some of these guys at the old OFC Factory Tours...) but I say that with love.

I plan on being there. My work schedule will be known on the 19th and then I can commit for sure. Chances are 99.5% my schedule will work. My daughter Sara has expressed interest but hasn't committed.

You'll learn to live with it and living with heat is a hell of a lot better than living with snow and cold and fog and wet shoes for three months As Matt Smith said once it's a toaster oven in July but 80° in February is great

It was a great class. I now know the secret of everything... time to put it to practical use.
There were lots of vintage and new guitars alike. I took a liking to an old Martin.
Stayed on South Congress (SoCo) at the Austin Motel. In Beal's words, it's cheap and has 'the vibe'. It certainly did. We walked across the street on Friday night to the Continental Club. It was a bit slow, probably due to the heat and it being a week after a Holiday, so there was only 30 or so people. I watched some amazing musicians not having any idea who Bill Carter was. I told Sara "These guys are EXACTLY the Austin Texas Blues sound" only to find out later that was a HUGE understatement. After some googling I saw he actually wrote several songs for SRV and The Fabulous Thunderbirds (including "Crossfire").
The next day was off to do some learnin from Matt Smith. I don't think I've ever learned as many things, or had as many lightbulbs turn on in one sitting ever. Many things I have wondered about were answered, including "The Secret to Everything"
A great time. Thanks Matt, and thanks Beal for the lodging suggestions, as well as suggesting the Continental Club.

Very jealous, Damon, and I'm not sure if I'm more jealous of the Carter gig (SRV was monumental in my book) or the Matt Smith class which I've had the pleasure of attending before (not the same class I'm sure). Hanging with Beal and Matt in Austin had to be a weekend to remember.

I have family in Austin including a niece that lives only a few blocks off Old Congress. Great place to hang out, especially when the hot rods are in town.
