| I have a Balladeer I bought in the 90s which I like, and just bought a Ovation Elite 2078 AX Deep Contour Acoustic-Electric Guitar Black w/OHSC 2078AX a year ago. I like both, but for my hands the Elite plays better. I play mostly fingerstyle - Croce, Lightfoot, Denver, Campbell....
My wife is saying I can get yet another one for Christmas (I want to replace the Balladeer after playing the Elite). I travel a bit and have one on each coast. I am trying to figure out if there is one or two steps better than my Elite, perhaps with cool exotic wood, perhaps new improved from Ovation? I am confused a bit by the model number system. Is there a slightly better model with the same slim neck? Perhaps with the VIP5 electronics or imaging? I do like the multiple sound holes and exotics just for the look, but the playability is the big thing for me. I looked at the Ovation website and I don't see any specs on the electronics, just the model name.
What are the choices? Can you custom order? If so, what would you all recommend?
