Location: Taxed To Death State | Hi Guys and Gals. John said I should post this on here as many of you will know George Frey whose handle was Geostorm. Can someone please share to the Ovation Fam site.
I went to school with George’s sister.
I am sad to say he passed on at 55 years old this past week, either Monday or Tuesday. The funeral service is Saturday November 25th at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church in Pine Meadow, rte 44, New Hartford.
George carved and sanded necks and made other parts for Ovation back in the 80”s. |

Location: Taxed To Death State | Thanks to Peggy for passing the info on. George was a great guy and die hard Ovation guy. Chances are most of us own a guitar with a neck made by George. RIP GEOSTORM |

Location: Taxed To Death State | The few phone conversations I had with George you could tell he knew his work like a master. He tried to explain truss rod specs and tensions to me once and he lost me after 15 seconds. My understanding is he and his Dad did alot of custom work and overflow work for Ovation. 55 is way too young to depart the planet. All around shame.

Location: When?? | It was a pleasure to connect with George here on the OFC. No way of telling for sure, but there's a good chance that I (and probably you, too) have some of his Ovation work here at home, and that's nice to know. Condolences to family. |
