Location: North Carolina | Working up a Beatles medely for our group. Have "You Can't Do That" into "Baby You Can Drive My Car". For the third song I wanted to keep the same quarter note accented feel and cadence going. Was thinking I might squeeze "Taxman" in there, but it doesn't quite do it. Also thought I might break the cadence and go into "Ticket to Ride", but it doesn't thrill me either. Any ideas? |

Pauly Yes. If you played the third track on the second side backwards, you could hear a young Moody saying, "Just delete..vvvpt, vvpt, vvvvvvvvvpt...Just delete....vpt, vpt, vvvvvvvvpt, vvvvvpt...Just delete..." |

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | George Martin's son put together a remix of beatles songs (see May 2007 Guitar Player) and in there he had a medley of
Drive my car
The word
What you're doing
All interspersed with Taxman
I'd say if you combined those four songs you wouldn't go wrong.
I think you might also want to experiment with Day tripper, I feel fine and ticket to ride.
Let us know what you pick. |

Location: North Carolina | We decided on "I'll Be Back". We can make the cadence work but the most important consideration was the texture of the harmony.
We are planning several Beatles tunes as stand-alone pieces, some of which were those suggested for the medely.
Thanks to all for your input. |
