That sure represents a lot of missed opportunity elsewhere. Congratulations. I'm sure I speak for many when I say I enjoy reading your posts. Your off-beat humor and irreverence speaks to me!

Is this the end of 'cliff?'

Will he return to the OFC under a new nom de internet?

Or, will he continue posting (posing?) as himself?

Who will be the next poster to hit the 10k post mark?

Tune in next week. Same OFC time, same OFC channel.

I knew it would be prophetic but the sheer depth of existential nothingness is obviously a pointed and potent reminder of today’s society at large.

Or Cliff fell asleep at the keyboard again.

Cliff should just f%ck off and die the way that Standingovation did. There's something noble in knowning when to stop spreading your seed. Just a suggestion Cliff, but why don't you come back as Heather? You've got the boobs for it.

Bill, exactly what I was thinking: how did Cliff get my 87C-5 and why take a picture of the bottom center of the top only? But seriously, Congrats Cliff...now what? ;)

By my count, that'd be:
8326 "wildlife related"
and...
48 "Really useful"

Edit: .0001% MOE... due to season

I'm not sure if 'congratulations' is the appropriate response, but we affirm Cliff's consistency and good humor. If a website's appeal is indicated by the number of hits, we owe Cliff a debt for making us more appealing. :)

The above photograph was taken at the Capitol Theater on June 18th, 1978. Renaissance was a British band that achieved minimal fame in the UK, and VERY limited popularity in the US (NY/Philly was a "hotbed" for them). At the time, they were one of my favorite bands.

This was during the "heyday" of Ovation's popularity, and guitarist/composer Michael Dunford used Ovations and Adamases exclusively in concert (in fact, HIS Adamas was the first I'd ever seen outside of the one that was hanging in Ackerman's Music at the time). Some songs also featured the bassist (and sometimes the drummer) joining in on acoustics. It was always Ovations.

I went to the concert with a very good friend that I'd known since kindergarten. He was a pretty accomplished guitarist and had never heard (or heard OF) Renaissance. He left the theater that night absolutely blown away by them.

It was a VERY hot, humid night in a small theater (that was absolutely THICK with pot smoke) and it was their last gig of a 3-month US tour, they were flying home the next morning, they were playing in a theater that their manager owned (it was a porn palace during the week), and they were playing to their most vociferous, loyal fans.
All in all, it was a VERY good night.

The concert was being broadcast live on WNEW-FM which was (for a long time) the pre-eminent rock station in NYC. Another good friend of mine taped the entire concert for me from the radio.

A couple weeks later, my friend sold the '63 Corvette that we drove to the show in, and bought Adamas #54 (only we thought it was #20).

For many years, I listened to that night again and again on a cassette that over the years became stretched, wrinkled, cracked, and eventually wound up in a box cassettes of mine that my ex-wife sold at a yard sale.

TOO many years after that show, I recently sat in my Music Room and played along (on #54) to the music of that VERY night from a CD recording of the broadcast that I had just recently received from yet ANOTHER (albeit "newer") Good Friend of mine who was THERE that night, now lives in Phoenix, and owns an amazing collection of Ovations and Adamases, himself.
Very Bizzarre, Indeed!

If y'didn't already know it . . . this Board's a VERY cool place!!)

Hear, Hear, Cliff! It's a small world, and you never know who has had the same Life experiences as you, until you have the chance to tell your life's stories. Great story, Hears to 10,000 more. ;)
