Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Got a chance to put some time on the OFC guitar this past weekend. I am an absolute sucker for these stereo setups with EGB panned left and ADE panned right. With the right sound amplification/reinforcement system, you’d swear you’re inside the bowl. The guitar plays bright and loud. I didn’t take the time to test it in depth against the 1581 (my only other Adamas), but standing in front of the pair with the bowls at eye level, they seem acoustically comparable to my ears, with maybe just slightly more bass from the 1581 and slightly more mid-range from the OFC model, but not by much. I would never notice the difference except side by side. The 1581 has Adamas 1818's, but I’m not exactly sure what the OFC model came with, and this might make a slight difference. Its looks are outstanding, and most certainly capture the perception that you are staring at an original. Except for the fact that it was made in 2007, it is essentially the same thing as an original. |

Speakers spaced apart. Run the bass strings into an amp that really compresses the sound, and then the high end into chorus and an exciter. That would be interesting. sounds like fun professor. good review. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I see it being used in my basement. Solo. I really don't know why I didn't just get the #47 without the electronics, except this one is blue. I doubt I've plugged in the 1537 in a year and have never played it with stereo cables. Maybe I'll have to loan it out to those of you that actually will use what it has. Meanwhile the waiting is killing me, but it's fun. Looks like Christmas will be in July or August. |

Wait a minute! Can I buy a guitar and blame it on the dog?? You can blame it on anything that works! Dogs, temporary insanity, mid-life crisis, idiocy, senility, drunkenness, anything. It's the rules.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I know this is way over the top for a 275 square foot basement band room, but with the stereo outputs, I like to send the signals to two separate but identical Fender Acoustasonic Jrs with the DSP switched to the same settings, then XLR outs from each amp to a stereo Yamaha sound reinforcement system that drives the signal panned wide to four large 15" speaker/horn combo speakers. This works with all of the stereo outputs made by Ovation on their bowl guitars. The signals from other stereo guitars (Ovation solids, Gibson ES335CRS) don't split the strings like Ovation does on its A/E line, so the effect isn't as significant. I was sold on this sound when it was first demonstrated to me in 1981. I used this stereo set-up only a few times years ago when playing out. It involves hauling and handling a lot of equipment with only limited benefit. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | OK this is a shameless bump, but I was hoping to hear if there was any word on any more of the OFC guitars. I'm figuring the widenecks will get delivered next, then they'll shut down the factory before they start on mine. That would serve me right for procrastinating. |

Now I'm guessing the widenecks that people saw on the tour are 8, 9 and 10 and mine will be right around the corner. If I don't have it by the time I leave for San Diego on the 30th, can I just borrow yours for the week, Tony? |

Location: SoCal | Wish I could. Guitar arrived about 6pm 6/8 in Vernon, CA; misc package (in a cheese box) from Al arrived just before midnight 6/8. Both show out on truck early this morning.
1:38pm today, misc package (gig bag and goodies) arrived, placed on washer in garage.
now 5:05pm, no sign of guitar.
now both listed as transit to house today...had two ServiceMaster trucks in driveway and curb, garage door open, door from garage to kitchen open - repairing ceiling and scraping popcorn off of ceiling - not only were we home but construction guys, no tag on door, website still shows out on truck as of 7:01am today.
so guitar stolen, lost, or box was too small for driver to realize...maybe other boxes (probably auto parts) were stacked on top of the box.
oh well...that's UPS. |

Like giving birth. The long wait. The "door" was wide open. Got some stuff early, then nothing.
They kept saying any time. I'm sure Tony is sweating and cussing. Ok, panting.
The delivery is "never" on time... THEN !!!
It's here! Everyone wants pic's. Several "relatives" were very anxious.
Lots of relief... Congrats.

It's a long wait from birth to delivery when you live on the left side of the country. It's a much longer wait from the time Al conceived of this.
OK, I just grossed myself out by thinking of Al conceiving. No more birth analogies. Thanks, Al. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Number 11 scheduled to arrive on June 26. SWMBO says it can ride in her seat on the trip to San Diego. I'll plan on that, since she gets her flight paid for anyway. Maybe I'll put a hat on it and ride around with the top down. That should draw some stares.
I guess number 12 and the widenecks should be done any day if they aren't already. I've already checked the tracking number a few times, even though it hasn't moved yet. |

Everybody who's getting an OFC slothead is going to be thrilled with it. And that's really saying something for an old wood topped guy like me. Al and the factory really out did themselves on these. Trust me, they are worth the wait. |

Welcome to the HOT Southeast USA. No, not the same as Hawaiian heat. Glad that you have survived the move. Would like to invite you to any future OFC events in this part of the country. MusicMishka in the VA. But don't hold that against the rest of us! :D ;)
We all look forward to meetin ya personally!
Ignore any comments from your former Bro Lanaki. :p ;)
