Location: upstate ny | First off I just want to say hi, im new to this board. It seems like a great board and I cant wait to use it!
Ive been an electric guy for years, and I want to get into some acoustic/recording stuff. I did my homework and decided on the celebrity deluxe. I just bought one on ebay(after much talk with the seller because I told myself I would never buy a guitar online) and I should have it anyday. I bought it for $400 shipped with a hardshell case. heres the link:
my guitar
let me know what you think. according to the seller who is a professional musician, it has amazing sound. thanks!

Location: Sunshine State, Australia | You paid 200 bucks for a hardshell case and shipping???
You got a good price on the Celebrity (if you only paid $199) but got stung bigtime on the extras.
I hope he threw in a set of steak knives. :D
But you'll love it, which is what matters most. |

you dont think 400 is good? Ive looked at deluxes at a bunch of other places and the lowest ive seen is 600 without a case and shipping...
hmm...i hope I didnt get screwed here.
Have you seen deluxes go for $200?? |

Location: Up North | Like the man said, "You'll love it" and $400 isn't a bad price, just curious why you didn't put a bid in and let the auction run it's course. Of course when GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome) hits, you can't argue with it, you just have to go with it. |

I didnt bid because I kind of know the guy and I made what I thought was a really good offer and he accepted...but i guess I could have done better. Well that sucks. Im leaving for college soon and every dollar counts. o well. Cant take it back now |

Location: Michigan | Zack you got a great deal for $400.00 with an Ovation case no taxes and shipped to your house.
I bought one 5 years ago and still love playing it every day.It is alot bang for the buck and like most everyone here thats how this Ovation/Adamas plague of guitar collection starts out.
Next you will find ways to make up excuses why you should get another one. Good Luck to you and YOU DID NOT GET SCREWED YOU GOT A GOOD DEAL FROM A REPUTABLE ONLINE E-BAY DEALER .
Next time you get the need for one you should check with Al Pep on this forum and he can hook you up with your Ovation needs. GWB |

When you say Celebrity Deluxe...
What numbers are we talking about? I can't tell just by looking at those photos.
CS257, or CS247... CC48 or CC44?
I just got a CC44 for $419 (case and shipping inc)
Mine has an OP4BT, so it has a tuner. But yours has an OP24+! Which I like better.
I got three tuners, I'd rather have the shape & shift.
I paid that much for my first Ovation. And I still like it!
[and it does have an OP24+!]
And I agree... Now you've got it, Enjoy! |

Location: South of most, North of few | The OP 24+ is the type of preamp in the guitar. (the thing you see on the side with the buttons) The 24 is a nice mid range amp, probably as good a sound as any, and a lot of adjustment in the tone dept. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | The three buttons on your pre-amp...
The top one allows you to bypass the EQ settings all together.
The middle one accentuates the bass and treble.
The lower one shifts the mid-range...
This comes in handy for changing the flavor of your geetar when playing through the amp.
Useful for Wish You Were Here and Aqualung
An OP4BT only has a 3-band EQ, and a Tuner. But nothing fancy. |

Location: Sunshine State, Australia | Hi again unbrok3npp.
I didn't mean to say you didn't get a good deal overall, it just seemed that you got an INCREDIBLY GOOD deal on the guitar, but got stung bigtime for the case and shipping. (presuming that you only paid $199 for the git)
Overall, you still got a VERY good deal, but... that BIN button can sometimes be so damn pushable.
I didn't mean to wee on your barbeque.

out of curiosity, so maybe I can feel a little better about screwing myself over, what have other celebrity deluxe owners paid for their guitars? thanks! I paid full price ($599.00) for mine (CSE44) at a music store, and the guy threw in a hard shell case and a set of strings for free. I think I got a decent deal even at full price, because the guitar sounds great.
I would say you got a great deal... :) |

Location: upstate ny | just wanted to say I got the guitar. I love the sound! its a model cc247. I dont think it has a tuner which kind of stinks..
but, it had some minor cosmetic flaws, i told the seller, and he's giving me back $100! So i really got everything for $300 including shipping :)
If only it were easy to change the tuners...
just thought id let you guys know! |
