Location: Plattsburgh, NY | You know I was just about to put a post in the for sale section to sell my Viper and then I had an epiphany. Nothing sounds quite like a Viper using a slide with the tone cranked. These beautiful over tones and subtle harmonic feedback tones just come out in the most beautiful ways. Anyone else experience this?
It's like your on the edge of complete skronk but it's just the edge and on that line is some beautiful stuff. My preacher plays great slide too, but the Viper does stuff I've never heard before. Anyone else experience this???

Location: Scotland | My main non-lap slide guitar is a Breadwinner with 3 Viper pickups, and my backup is a Preacher. However I've heard and produced great slide tones from some of the cheapest, nastiest guitars you wouldn't want to be seen dead with. So ultimately I believe it's all in the hands, touch and technique of the player. |

However I've heard and produced great slide tones from some of the cheapest, nastiest guitars you wouldn't want to be seen dead with. I'd have to agree;and the flip side of that is no matter how many great guitars I buy it doesn't make me sound any better !

Location: Orlando, FL | Resonator, thanks for the insipration. I have noticed that I pick up my viper less and less these days. It's been a couple of decades since I done much slide playing. Think I'll buy some heavier strings, retune the viper, dust of my slide and have a go at it. |
