Location: Tucson, AZ | ...OK, from those of you who've actually seen, held, played, and evaluated one of the new Ovation VXT guitars--what'cha think?
...a couple of years ago, I bought an EA68 VIPER with the idea of "adding" a floating, neck-mounted HB pickup...but, alas, there wasn't spacing enough between the body and strings for pickup to fit.

Location: Tucson, AZ | ...Thanks! Yes, I'd already read your posting before I started this post. I was "culling" for the proverbial "second opinions."
...interesting info you posted about: (a) lack of TONE control for the piezo pickup; (b)vagueness (?) of the blend control between magnetic pickup and piezo; and (c) stereo/mono switch on VXT.
...how was the neck? Love my Balladeer, but somewhat disappointed with the "raw" unfinished wood finish on the VIPER...not what I expected. | |
