Location: Germany | Yeah, seems that production is half through! Love to see that the blue is single-colored. So they look more similiar to the original blue slotheads than to the later blue Adamas models.

Mitch, what time did you get back to LI as I noticed that you seem to be the very first to post after coming back from the tour?
Very nice photographs BTW. :) |

| These OFC slotheads look quite different compared to the photo Alpep had posted not long ago on the board. His photo showed a rather blue-reverse slothead. The ones shown here seem to be blue, no reverse. Am I missing something? |

Got my mouth watering...can't wait to finish this move and get back to playing more. Moody has to toss us a bone, how's it sound ????? I ordered one of the widenecks, hope it's everything I think it will be.
Tim,
Totally envious from across the sea, looks like another great YSHBT tour. Next year... |

Very nice. |

This is what Tom has identified as the necks for serials 10, 11 and 12 - apparently the wider necks for Dave, Tim and myself. It's very exciting to see emerging the guitars.

:) interesting
what is the number to the custom shop?
funny I had them custom match that blue for my guitars.
why not just ask me about it?
it never ceases to amaze me how you can explain something seemingly endlessly and some people still ask the same questions over and over. |

why not just ask me about it? Al, I called them, but is it appropriate to post phone numbers and names here?
It's funny indeed because the OFC guitars I see on the photos are nothing like the photo of the 1/12 you have posted not long ago...the top color is totally different.
Did you change the color on the rest 11?
There you go, I just asked! :) |

did you READ the part about the flash? did you read how I said it made it look darker than it was in the center? did you read the part about it being matched to an Adamas 1 and not a slot head and I was going to have them tweak the color to make it natch better.
AFAIK the adamas custom shop has no phone number |

| Hey, relax big guy! No reason to get upset! :)
The OFC Adamas with the plain blue maybe different from your 1/12, but still it looks great!
AFAIK the adamas custom shop has no phone number I may have called on a different planet then... :D |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Prior to the tour I was gratiously hosted by Sir and Madam Pepiak at Casa Bellmawr. Not that that makes me any kind of authority, but it does make me one of a handfull of people to see/play OFC guitar #1, as well as see all the others in the factory and hotel. My observations:
1. Photographing these guitars with flash is a bitch. The color hues get all screwed up and the gold fleck in the top does odd things with the light.
2. ALL of the OFC guitars I have seen have a burst paint. #1 has a burst very much like the Adamas I reissue but more gold flecks. #2 and onwards have a less drastic burst, more like Cliff's slothead. There are slight variations between all the guitars.
3. The photos make #1 look MORE contrast burst than it really is. And the photos make #2 onwards look LESS contrast burst than they really are.
4. The tops look LIGHTER color blue (to me) when in the factory before they get their bowls painted. The raw fiberglass bowl is also a light blue/white color and it makes the top look even lighter. It's an illusion. Once the bowls are painted I'm sure the tops will look darker.
Why are we even debating this? Every one of these guitars is slightly different and they are all wonderful. And they are all sold.

Location: Germany | Thanks Dave for the explanation. I took a closer look to the high-resolution pics I got from Jerome and realized that there is less gold sparkle in the center of the guitar (the same with #47RI). Could this make the illusion of a different center color?
Anyway, I can't wait to get mine! Seems it will be #8 or #10.

Location: Boise, Idaho | Since mine seems to be the next one to be built, please don't give them any ideas about purple with pink polka dots. I told my wife it was blue and she gets whatever she wants. (Like when she holds up two dresses and asks which you like better. You know you're buying at least one of them, so it really doesn't matter, but if you say you don't care, you'll probably end up buying both.) |

I really wish that one was coming my way. |
