Location: Up North | Not to be unkind Doc. But Mr. Shaffer, your bass player looks like he's ready for "Lord of the Dance" with that stance. :D :p
Don't send the others to break my kneecaps! You definitely have the "Ringleader" look to your stance. |

Very nice Tom.
What did you guys use to record the songs with? stephent28,
Thank you. We went to some local guy's house who had converted one of his upstairs bedroom into a "studio". The console ran from wall to wall. He used all Pro Tools stuff; not the real expensive stuff but the hobbiest version.
The drummer was in another bedroom and the 5 of us were in the one room with thr recording guy and the console with all our guitars, etc.It was quite a site as we could just barely sqeeze in!
All the amps were put in a closet and covered with blankets for isolation from one another. The drummer wore headphones and we could all hear ourselves over his studio monitors. Most of everything came from our original scratch track, so we lucked out.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Tom |

It's always nice to see/hear what other project studio players use when recording.
Sounds like he had a nice setup and the results (from scratch tracks) was very good.
Do you know what kind of mics he was using on the vocals and amps? |

Tom, why do you limit your audience to those who worship the Micro$oft behemoth? muzza,
Oh ye of little faith ! I don't !:>)
My brother is hosting this for me out of Louisville,Kentucky ; he did it for me unsolicitted. He did explain to me, when I told him it didn't work, that I had to use MS Explorer or FireFox. So I can't complain too much.

The page won't work with Firefox or Safari on a Mac.
Hey Tom. I fired up Windoze and even downloaded the latest and greatest IE7, but the 'play' links on the page don't work for me. A dialog box opens up asking me if I want to open the file, I click 'yes' (or whatever) and a new window opens for a millisecond, closes, and the original dialog box opens again.
I did get to listen to 'Start Me Up', but I had to download the file. |

Location: CT | ..anyway, if you want real Pro Tools recording, it's on a Mac. Great stuff. I'm sure a lot of you remember the old analog days so I won't get into it. You can pretty much have a complete studio in your bathroom closet these days. |

Sorry about that. I think I misspoke earlier, it will only work with MS Internet Explorer.
I don't know why it won't work with the latest IE. I will check with my brother when I get back in town tonight.
It works for me with IE but mine is probaly an older version.

Thanks. John's voice is very Orbinson'esque . We're gonna have to do some more Roy; maybe "Pretty Woman".
Sorry for troubles with any one unable to open page. I'm not a computer expert so I don't understand why MS Internet Explorer is required.

It didn't know how to handle the file. That's why I thought I needed the latest incarnation.
Why did your brother limit the page to IE? With the current state of cross platform compatibility, it must have taken a fair bit of extra progamming to exclude all other browsers.
Does yo' bro' work for Micro$oft??? |

You need RealPlayer for the 'Play Track' link to work.
After all that... I enjoyed what I heard. |

Thank you for figuring that out. My brother doesn't work for MS !!! In the olden days he worked for some computer company that maintained their client's systems remotely. He must be using his experiences from back in those days. I'm just happy that he's given us a place on the web.
I'm on my way to the airport and will be in radio silence till later this evening.
