| She's going in for heart catheterization today.. with her pckd there is a chance it's gonna cause her kidneys to fail permanently, but she has to have the test..
I'll let you all know how it went later..
I'm whipped, scared, and not much rest over the past couple of days... basically none. just can't sleep.
Thanks all.

it's much better to have an open heart than to be "religious". a man can be so caught up in his religion that it closes his heart and his prayers go unanswered. God is into relationships, not religion.
He will hear your prayers for Glenn and Char. |

| just got back... the results from the heart cath are not good, actually signed a consent for balloon angioplasty to be done at the time of the cath if needed, or possible, and it's not... too much damage, waiting for more tests and consults, trying to stay positive(for both of us).. the doc from the cath/angio said our options will be either open-heart(very questionable survivability) in her current weakened condition, icd defibrillator implant and meds, or just work on breaking up the clot and other issues via bloodthinners etc... but the damage to the heart is severe and extensive.. sudden death could occur with or without surgery or medication at any time.. she's tranq'd out now.. and we will be talking with the doctors about our options over the next few days.. anyway according to the doc, she's not gonna lose the toe or foot to the ischemia and that at least is improving..
one step at a time, one minute at a time, one breath at a time, as long as she's here I'm happy, I just don't want her to suffer... she worries for us after she's gone, and I have to keep reminding her.. she has a strong heart, she survived all of this so far, when others haven't when served what she has been over the past several months... the docs just shake their head and wonder how she's still here..
must be for a reason right?
Thanks Bruce.

| Thanks Lanaki..
That about covers it..
just got out of my first shower in a few days... can't say I'm refreshed, but no longer offensive(smelling).. I'm waiting on Shannon to get home from the pool hall(she won the local 9 ball championship and is sponsored and going to the big show in Minnesota) and visiting her mom... she called a while ago and wanted to be sure I was awake, as she forgot her keys..
I'm awake.

| Thanks Jason, and thanks to everyone else here. Shannon's home, took the poster from the pool hall advertising the tourney.. said she won so it's hers..plus she had her picture in the paper last week with the announcement of her win..
I told her that things are pretty serious, and that her mom won't be at the commencement, but we'll know more in a few days.. oh yeah.. forgot to tell you.. she was 3/10 of a point from graduating with honors... great kid, she's had a rough couple of years lately.
and her mom doesn't want her to know how bad it currently is so we'll leave it at that.. the doc today was pretty blunt about her chances and prognosis... and am hoping the specialists coming in for consult have a more positive answer or treatment.
I'm gonna go lie down now..

| Thanks guys and ladies, and a few gentlemen... and all those here and in our families and other forums for the prayers..
here's an update... she's feeling emotionally better, currently only has about 40% of normal heart strength or output..
bypass is not an option according to the Drs. too much damage... too much plaque... and if done.. improvement would me minimal or nil... and right now she wouldn't survive the surgery anyway.
ICD implant MAY be an option down the road.. but right now... too much damage, and she currently doesn't have the strength to survive the procedure.
Currently treating the clot and heart with lot's of very expensive drugs... of which just one alone is going to cost us over 3k per month after release... we are getting all of the prescription help forms from all of the pharma companies filled out for possible assistance on these.(hopefully)
The Dr. says she can go on another regimen of drugs which are lower cost, and some generics, and while it will maintain her in her current condition, does not feel those will gain her any recovery or improvement.
sudden heart attack or vtach may happen at any time... in her weakened state.
we are filling out disability papers for her. she has at least a few more days in the hospital being monitored before her release...
the docs as to prognosis say she probably has less than a few..(5) years left with us even with the best of the available treatments above.. and sudden distress and death could also occur at any time... for any reason.. too much extensive damage to the heart muscle..
this will pretty much destroy us financially unless we can get some help on the meds and treatments from the drug companies and hospitals, but I'm not worried about that now.. nor is she..will do our best to fry those fish as they come along..
we are focusing on the recovery, and our time together now.. they say they MIGHT let her go to the daughter's grad ceremony tomorrow night.. but if not, I'll be shooting video for her.
I'm still with her and she's still with me, and she is always the best part of every day for me..
The kids are all grown, I'll sell all we have to keep her here with me a little longer, as long as she needs me..
just happy she's still here today, we're just concerned with and enjoying today... and following all instructions and exploring all suggestions..
Thank you for your continued prayers.

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | I've been praying Glenn. I'll keep praying. From your many thoughtful words throughout this trial, the genuine, honest love you hold for Char shines...Shines so brightly that it touches lives and souls across the world. So many have responded to your humble requests with such compassion as can only come from hearts deeply moved by your commitment. And if we can all feel your love so completely when we are so utterly, physically removed from its presence, what must Char experience when she sees you enter the room, when you take her hand in yours, when you hold her close? Whatever else may happen, Char is, and will continue to be, well-loved! And she will return that love in kind, as she always has. God is eternal and is love incarnate! Hence, the bond you and Char share exists within the love of God Himself. And in the end, there are but three things that last; faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these...is love.
May God's peace dwell with you and Char. |

| Thanks,
Char has been released, her current cardiac output is about 25% actually.. as confirmed by her GP today... felt kinda like it was a kiss a hug and good luck as they hustled her out the door since she's uninsured and uninsurable, but we'll see.
lots of new medications and we are to follow up with the cardiac surgeon who does want to follow up with the ICD procedure.. and says to worry about how to pay for it later.. actually he said don't worry it will get paid... we have tons more of paperwork to fill out.. I'm glad she's home, and will be able to see Shannon walk for graduation..
the GP who is a good doctor and has treated Char for years, said it wouldn't surprise him if he were to hear that she died anytime soon... but he also says she might make it 5 years or more as long as she pays attention, follows instructions, and doesn't overdo it..
she hasn't been home 20 minutes and already trying to jump in with both feet... when we see the Dr on Tuesday... I'm gonna demand he give her some tranqs... she reads "light activity as tolerated"
as time to sweep and mop the kitchen, feed the animals, and catch up on the laundry....
please realize the house is not a wreck, Shannon has done an outstanding job of keeping things pretty clean around here.. and we were REALLY NOT expecting her to be released, as she was having chest pain as recently recorded as wednesday evening..
Glad she's home, but I'm still pretty skittish..

I know this board is a release and a distraction for you, as for most of us. I hope that Char can put up with supervising you rather than doing it herself. My father in law had to take care of his wife for years after she had a series of strokes and he did it with admirable patience and love. It's so hard for those who are helpless to accept it. My mother in law eventually died from complications from a broken hip. She was doing something she shouldn't have been doing, rather than ask him for help, which he would gladly have given.
You have to convince her that you need to take care of her. That's what's best for both of you. Good luck. |

Violetta and I want to let you and Char know that you are in our prayers as well as on the prayer lists of my two churches; I am praising God for his blessings in allowing Char to survive this latest tramma and be able to return home! Each day is a gift and is precious! We are keeping your family in our hearts!
Blessings! |

| since I last checked in with you Char has developed an aneurysm above the cath entry site, they attempted to close the neck on it and thought they had it sealed... was released again on the 22nd and was recovering well and no pain, today started feeling pressure and pain in the aneurysm site and back to the hospital we went... the repair has failed, and in order to repair again they will now have to filter out the blood thinners and in doing so will cause some more possible clotting, and make the heart work harder in it's severely weakened state and more at risk for a-fib, again... waiting for the day staff and Drs and lab people to come in have their coffee and let us know... but basically she's in some severe risk with this, and we still haven't stabilized or progressed once yet..
please keep her in your thoughts and thank you for your support and kind words.

Of course it would make my mother-in-law grimace. Ha! All the more reason to play for the mom in law! |

| and I found out why it is a USED N768... looks like the bridge was relocated.. there's an extra set of holes in the soundboard filled with resin.. the intonation is right now tho...the bridge covers it up and is unseen from the front, so that must have been it.
