Wa-ay back in my newsguy days, we liked to go to the losers parties after elections. Just as much liquor, fewer people, and they're there to DRINK. |

Craig I thought you mentioned a long while back that you didn't think you'd be standing again. What changed your mind? Was that 2 or 3 terms you served?
Please don't tell us the new mayor plays a Taylor.
So you'll be in Ct for the Tour right?
And you'll always be Hizzoner round here. |

How about Unindicted? That'd be a rarity amongst you politicos. :) |

You can be Mayor of our little community. I think we already have a Judge and a Sheriff. Or you could change your name to "justanotheridiot"
From Wikipedia:
"Idiot" was originally created to refer to people who were overly concerned with their own self-interest and ignored the needs of the community. Declining to take part in public life, such as (semi-)democratic government :D :p :D :p |

You'll always be Hizzoner as far as I'm concerned. That is because you are the first member that I met in person at the hotel on my first tour. |

At any rate congratulations! You can have your life back! When my wife finished her two year sentence as mayor here we were both *very* happy. She had run because she wanted to get our new sewer system financed & construction begun & she did. This town needed a new sewer really bad or we were going to be in deep, uhh, trouble. She wouldn't run again & I wouldn't have let her even if she'd wanted to. What a miserable, thankless, 24-7, crappy paying (zip in her case), PITA of a job. I suggest you get your favorite O & a fishing pole & spend a few weeks playing your guitar while you're waiting for a bite. It won't be long before you realize you don't have to concern yourself with the local bickering & general BS you've been dealing with. If you didn't have at least 2 or 3 total A-holes you had to deal with regularly as mayor I'd be amazed. My wife sure did & this is a small town of less that 1,000. Now somebody else can deal with 'em! HA! You can't be very far from some big ol' Texas largemouth bass. Don't forget the Garden Hackle. |

BTW... still Hizzoner until about 7:15 this evening. |

Craig, time to follow in the steps of those who've gone before you (be sure to wipe your shoes before you come back in the house).
Get that book deal, line up those $500k lectures and before you know it you'll be appointed ambassador to the Duchy of Grand Fenwick and you can sneer at those who called you 'loser'. |

If elected I won't serve."

| Same circus, different clowns :) ...sounds like the current list of Presidential candidates. Except for Ron Paul. I respect him, but Congress isn't really interested in the Constitution anymore so they don't take him seriously.. |

She offered her honor, he honored her offer, and all through the night he was "Honor & Offer"
Maybe now you'll have more time to honor the offer, your Honor. |

If y'all got the notion the grandaddy of fok festivals, Kerrville Folk Festival, starts Thursday, I plan on being there this weekend, and the Camp Duct Tape gang would be tickled (some of them will be pickled, I'm sure) to see you... |
