I finally got serious about playing guitar a couple of months ago. After working at the Ovation factory from 1979 through 1999, you would think I would be a veteran player, but too many things got in the way. I'm so glad I picked it up again.
My guitar of choice is a prototype Adamas I that I built while supervising the Adamas line. It was just an art object in my library for many years (disgusting, huh?). I dropped it off with John Budny and he had Mike DeNois fix it all up for me. What a beautiful instrument. Now, I'm inspired to play every day. I love it!
Anyway, since I'm a believer that Ovation is in a class by itself and it has been such a part of my life, I feel compelled to join this great group, now, too.
I have already been enjoying the postings and I hope to put in my two cents now and then. I look forward to communicating with fellow Ovation fans.
Thanks,
tim |

I feel welcome already.
There is no serial number. We actually put a Prototype label in it when Don Johnson and I finished putting it together for testing in 1987. It is a full bowl with an Adamas I neck. The color is black and the epaulets are 9 piece. It's a beauty and now it sounds really awesome.
I don't have any pictures, but I'll take some and get them posted as soon as I can.
By the way, I guess I'm supposed to say that I still work for KMC, so anything that I say about our products is highly suspect. :-)
I love Ovation. Nothing else like it.
Playing again,

I'm suprised everybody that works there is not a member already. I'm sure we'll be waiving the membership fee (: |

Damn, we can't trust the people who work there, used to work there, sell 'em, buy 'em, or used to run the company! What a great group. |
