Joined: February 2005 Posts: 4 Location: Huntington, NY | HI All, I need some advice (preferably good)on what to do with my rapidly dulling top on a blue CVT 12 string. Can it be refinished without major aggravation / expense? I have a very competent luthier friend that could do the job I'm sure or should I send it to the factory for regrooving? By the way, my previous OFC moniker was rx7dr, but I have changed my email, and couldn't remember my password (can't remember many lyrics either)... What a drag it is getting old

This is where I brace my fingers when picking, and sometimes when strumming my finger tips graze this area. The "dulling" does not appear serious, I guess I thought it could be buffed out, maybe with a little very fine rubbing compound. I assume it is a Urethane finish and I have to assume it could stand up to a little polishing. Or am I wrong?

I have something called "Scratch Out", I think by Turtle Wax, that I got several years ago and it worked fine on scratches on the lacquer of my Larrivee. Bet it would work well on your Adamas, also.
