Hi,

This is my first post since joining several days ago. I have enjoyed reading all of the postings and have been a Fan of Ovation Guitars since purchasing my first Ovation in 1972. I still have that guitar a Pacemaker 12 string. I also have a 1989 12 String elite that I recieved as a gift from my Father 3 years before He passed away. Ialso recently purchased a Celebrity cc059 to replace the Country Artist I got rid of in the mid 80's, ( What was I thinking of ???).

I also own a couple of Martin's, Hope this doesn't get kicked out of the club.

I believe that for durability, consistant sound, appearance and price, NOTHING BEATS AN OVATION.

One very good thing about this site is that most people here are guitar and music lovers first, Ovation nuts second.

Go to another guitar site, say you love Ovation, and watch the insults fly, the "salad bowl" "cannoe paddle" jokes, etc.

That doesn't happen here. Every one here knows I own a couple of Haida Gwaiis and a Paragon wooden guitars as well as my collection of Ovations. They're all cool with it!

I haven't run into an Ovation "SNOB" yet. A number of "Wood only" Snobs elsewhere, but not here.

And you are correct, nothing beats an Ovation for price and quality.

Welcome Gospel Guitar Guy

Everyone here almost has their wooden mistress hidden somewhere. The one they they address "Just walk on by, wait on the corner, I love you but were strangers when we meet"

But, they also have their true love with a round plastic back.

Some sing songs like:
"I'm pickin' here with Martin on my mind, and next to me the used to be, the O I,ll leave behind, but I'll place no one above her, for the O I really love her, but I'm lying here with Taylor on my mind" (forgive me ghost of Conway's Linda on My Mind)

We forgive the transgressors as long as they don't clutter up the site with photos of their carnal sins.
