Subject: finish cracks behind headstocks

Why do so many older pre K-bar necks have finish cracks one the back of the neck where the neck and headstock join. Is this due to this being the area where the truss rod is adjusted?

Are you talking about the necks with the 14* angle or the necks with the 8* angle? I'd guess 14 and that's because somebody dropped them, it's a stress point. That's why they changed to 8*.
The 14 sound better.
