Let's take a survey of who wishes I never started the idea of a survey in the first place? Or a survey of who owns tin-whistles and finger-cymbels? Man, sometimes I just hate myself. OK, let's all pile on.

I love that thing! Instead of annoying people unfortunate enough to be nearby I can annoy people clear the hell down the block! I'm taking it with me to the annual New Years Party this year. I'm sure I'll get some volunteers to play it. No ukes, mandos or finger symbals though. I've got a harmonica & a jewsharp, do they count? Oh yeah, I forgot about the old fiddle we had redone. I only tried to play it once & it didn't work out. I didn't think it was so bad, but my wife wanted to know which one of us was moving out & then the next day my dog died. Haven't tried it since, although I might give it a shot again after I get heat in the new shop.

Witko;
Put me down for:
Assorted tin whistles,
Finger cymbals,
Numerous Andean flutes,
An Ian Anderson autographed kazoo,
Two concert flutes, (one's mine, one's Jeanette's),
Several harmonicas,
A bamboo saxophone (which I can't find . . )
and a Steel Drum (which TECHNICALLY is in my ex-wife's possession - haven't (yet) found the right "bargaining tool").

Alas, . . . no mandolin.

That's it - IT QUIT! I'm joining the OFC (OTHER Fan Club). Out. Click. Pull Plug. Cut Off Fingers. DONE! YOU GUYS ARE KILLING ME!

PS - Actually when I was young I did play a mean washboard and my Mom was pretty good on the spoons. Dad played Jug, but would take frequent breaks to take a swig.

I'm thinking of buying tablas. If I do, I'll start a tabla survey.

Add me on for mountain dulcimer. I'm spending 66% of my practice time on them now.

Roger

An island of reason in a sea of insanity, please don't use your dulcimer to back somebodies bagpipes, or your soul will sink to the bottom of this sea. Look up "I'm Building a Houseboat in Heaven" by Townes Van Zandt.

I re-skinned a coupla tambourines. Not a popular musical activity at The "O"rphanage- somehow relates to other threads on "quality time" and differential effects on fellow housedwellers.

Not to worry, Bailey, I'd NEVER use a mountain dulcimer to back someone with bagpipes...I think it would be against the laws of nature for two different types of modal instruments to play together!!!! :D My soul is safe.

I did check the Townes Van Zandt lyrics......
