| I found a solid body Ovation electric Ultra GS that just does somethin to me. ? Could someone here Please tell me what an approximate value is on one of these older Ovation electrics? I have never even looked at one before and I have no idea if these are rare collectable guitars or not? I know I like this one. It reminds me of my old White Strat! But I like the carving on the body and the headstock.

Location: Tennessee | Yeah, I know what you mean. This is the one I was looking to find for my boy before I pulled the pin on the Shredder Celeb, but none appeared for a long time. I like the carving, too. I wouldn't say they're collectable, and certainly aren't going to have your typical strat tone, but the coolness factor alone is worth a couple of hundred bucks. I think these are better than the usual guitars that were coming out of Korea in the 80's, and Ovation seemed to spec pretty decent parts to put these together. |

| Yeah I got GAS bad. But I am buying one guitar for my Girl! So that means I have to get another myself Right????
And yeah this guitar looks like it is real well made? Like the tuners, pickups, Neck and that cut Body.
I always liked being different and this is just odd enough to make musicians squint a little trying to figure out just what the heck that guitar is.
Any ideas on the value? |

Location: Tennessee | Value is subjective. For ME, I wouldn't pay more than $275-300 for a near mint one with all the accessories. Looks like this one is pretty complete, so something as much as $250 would be what I would pay. BEAR IN MIND that I just got over a case of GAS ... if I was in the midst and really wanted this one I would probably go a bit higher.
Get the high-res pics from the seller and look closely.
The Celeb I got for my boy was very similar (it's identical to the Applause model on the bay right now ... the one with the sharksfin inlays), was complete, had nice hardware, and I ended up paying $130 (no case). Bummer that the headstock got damaged during shipping. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Very under-rated guitars IMHO and as stated, much better than most of the strat-like guitars of the day. The extra routing on the edge of the body is a nice touch that really set these apart. As far as value, it's all subjective, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find Schaller tuners, Dimarzio pickups, Kahler trem, a decent neck and a really cool routed body for much less than $300.00 |

| Al if I don't get this one let me know what you have? I am kind of hooked on this white one because of my old Strat? But hey blow the dust off of what you have and get them out for sale.
Miles Yep sounds like a spot on estimate to me! |
