Location: Omaha | This past Sunday I used my new Legend L777-5 in worship for the first time; it performed great (better than I did... :rolleyes: )...
...but after church I noticed both a snag on my tie and a little roughed up fabric on the front of my sportcoat...I'm thinking the back of the O did it, since it is somewhat rough (I haven't checked for any specific "snag spots" yet).
Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions what to use to smooth off the back of the guitar a little? I won't try sandpaper (unless someone else has done so successfully); I was thinking of those green scratchpads, maybe?

Location: NW NJ | When I lead worship, I don't wear a sportcoat, but I do usually wear a tie. I've never had the "snag your tie on the bowl" problem. I've led with my Adamas SMT, my 6778LX and my 1778T (which has a REALLY rough finish) and not had a problem, even with the T. And it certainly isn't because my round belly isn't mashing the tie up against the bowl either! :D I guess it could be possible, but I'd be tempted to look elswhere for the snaggy thing. One way to see if there is, for lack of a netter term, a burr on the bowl is to get a silk scarf and rub it gently on the bowl to see if it hangs up anywhere. If you find one, the green scratchpad would probably work if you are gentle ... and accurate - good luck! :cool: |

Location: Upper Left USA | Its usually a case of the clothing wearing on the guitar! Because of its newness there may be a rough spot. Close your eyes and run your bare hands across every part of the guitar. Check the strap as well. If there is a hang-nail of sorts anywhere I would use nothing worse than my thumbnail to remove it. The edges of the binding and the purfling are likely candidates.
No scratch pads - find the specific area and take appropriate measures. The bowl texture alone shouldn't snag or grab.
They made it through the 70s will all those nylon shirts! :eek: |

Location: NJ | My Ultra 12-string has a VERY rough bowl!
I don't know if the Korean formulation for bowl paint differed (or, if possibly mine was painted with the "bottom of the pot") but I have YET to see another O'bowl with THIS much "texture".
Often thought about investing in a Velcro vest and going "strapless" . . . |
