Location: Waurika OK | In my quest to learn more about mandolins, I ran across this website. They sell all kinds of stringed instruments, unfortunately no O's, but they are not O bashers.
They have lots of information about all types of stringed instruments and free lessons for all stringed instruments, plus you can buy DVD's. Like Bailey, they are in New Mexico, Ruidoso (spelling?) and Alto.

Links on anything and everything for stringed instruments....click on the "Extra links" and there are links for Mandolin construction,parts,& maintenance! I'm gathering up info,tools,& techneques to try and build a F5 mandolin!

You have revealed one of New Mexico's prettiest but overly exploited towns up in the mountains above Lincoln, and site of the shooting at Dowlin's Mill during the Lincoln County war. Ruidoso is loosly translated as "loud water", an accolade in this desert area where water is a form of gold. The creek was used to drive a sawmill, and some serious shooting took place there in the late 1890's involving Billy the Kid's gang.
Today Ruidoso is a great tourist destination with a fine quarter horse track, home of the All American richest Quarter Horse race that inspired a movie. It is sort of like Santa Fe in it's pretensions of culture, some millionaires built an opera house there that needs their money to survive, some thousandaires tried a country music venue like Branson Missouri that failed.

Location: Toronto | Xnoel - Folk of the Wood is an excellent site and Mickey is a Mando master. Great guy, who will take the time to talk to you and fit a mando for your playing style and budget. On top of all that - anything you buy at FOTW can be used later to trade in on something else - at full value - can't beat that...
