I read some time back that some did not feel the OP Pro put out the same depth as other Ovation pre-amp's. I have the OP-Pro on my 6778 and it projects well and you can set the low and high to accomodate the individual rather well depending on the sound your trying to get. I use the Kustom KAA30 amp and this set up works great.

I wonder if those people that felt it lacked was due to their amp? Anyone with feedback on this please post. :)

Sort of along those lines I've always wondered what people think of the features of the different preamps. For expample the Optima?? Has a notch filter, volume, bass, 2 mid controls and a treble.

The OP 24? Like by Balladeer has volume, bass, mid, treble but a mid shift button and a shape button to change the tone quickly.

The OP pro doesnt' have a notch filter nor does it have the extra mid tone knob and it only comes with one of the mid shift, shape buttons.

Seems like you need the notch filter right? I don't know the Op Pro seems like its missing stuff I'd want.

Tone wise I don't know. I do know I pleyed an Adamas CVT and a shallow body custom legend side by side and they both had the same preamp(though a different saddle pup I believe) and I couldn't eq out the brightness on the custom legend for the life of me. Certainly part of that has to be the guitar.

I have an OP Pro on the LX and I prefer the lit up tuner and the "big knob".

I have the OP 50 on the CL 12 and rely on the "Notch" to keep me on speaking terms with the bass player.

An OP Pro/60 does seem in order. I would also like to eliminate the big "pop" when I go to tune while plugged in.
