Location: Massachusetts | You are going to kill me...on 2 seperate days I spent about 2 hours playing a graphite color CVT with the Optima preamp. Only visible problem was the gold tuners seemed a little faded.
I won't say the price but it was perhaps one of the best deals I have ever seen on a new guitar being blown out at GC.
It sounded fuller than a new lx and had better bottom than an S771..which I own..but didn't accentuate the middle notes as well as the S771 well. Plugged in? It was very sweet. And, fingerpicked it held it's own against a Taylor if you are a fingerpicker!
I think it is a very good guitar and a good choice over a new LX or any balladeers if you have the money.
Plus it is very modern looking I love that woven top.
Ultimately I think I would like the guadiness of the Custom Legend for some dumb reasona and the shallow body :-( Custom Legend neck felt a tad more finished overall.
You did make a great choice though, you will enjoy it. Did you get the blue one? I guarantee if I looked at the CVT in blue I would have bought it caue I want a blue acoustic. Strange huh?
Enjoy your cool guitar!!!!! |

Long story,---waited 20 years after being ripped off for 1000 bucks from a "friend" on the purchase of an Elite 6 string when I had ordered a 12. I played it for 10 minutes and sent it back for the 12 string. I Never saw my 1000 bucks nor the elite. "Friend" disappeared with the cash. He was in arrears to the middleman and I was left without a chair and 1000 bucks when the music stopped. I never had an Ovation since then until now.
Short story: One week from Elderly. Very Smokin deal! It dropped off of their website when my deal was complete. |
