I have the s771 with the thinline pup. I plugged into my Fender Princeton 65 which is a bright ss amp with Adamas 1818 pb light guage strings. Kind of bright on all settings and the strings were well broken in.

Just bought some D'Addario EXP Medium 13 guage in 80/20 bronze.

It is like night and day tone wise in an amp. These are much smoother, balanced, warmer yet you have more range to brighten or darken them.

Don't know how they will sound in a good amp or in a pa.

Acoustic..still no zing/power compared to new ones in the stores but it's probably my guitar.

corvairfan,
You must be the fastest string changer in history! I noticed you posted about strings at 10:57 p.m and then at 11:01 p.m. you had bought and installed and tried out new strings!

Seriously, glad you solved your problem. I had 13's on my Legend and it really sounded good, just became afraid it might be too much tension on a 25 year old guitar and went back to 12's.
