I recently asked your opinion of which guitar I should purchase, the Balladeer Standard or one of the LX models, and after finally finding a dealer who had the Balladeer 1771, the 1771LX and the Legend 1777LX, I decided that the Balladeer 1771 was more to my liking. What a great guitar!! Personally, I thought the LX models sounded great, but sounded a bit thin compared to the Standard Balladeer. This guitar has some weight too, which I liked, and has great action directly from the store wall. If you can't tell, I am extremely pleased with my first Ovation. Great guitar!! Thanks for all the help.

Way to go JP. I'm glad you were able to play several guitars b4 you bought one. You will never wonder what the others sounded or played like that way. As people say over and over on this board, the best sounding guitar is the one that YOU think sounds the best and the best playing guitar is, likewise, the one that feels the best to YOU. Congratulations on your new O and enjoy!

You should enjoy it. Let us know in a month how it's grown on you.

It is the cherry/cherry burst, which really is more striking in person than any picture I've seen. Beautiful guitar. Looks as good as it plays.

I go back & forth on the cherry burst and the New England burst. Both look fantastic.

Brad - It's simple - get one of each!

Oh, that's right, we work for a living and spouses that can trip on things. Never mind.

BTW - I like the NE burst (this week)!

Another good reason to avoid housing male cats & dogs. Can you imagine what that stuff does inside a guitar?!

A case of post-lexia I think! I must have really shook him up showing him that case on Ebay.

BOT (back on track) I think all of the LX's are great. I hope they catch up in time to cover the 2006 40 year anniversary though!
